Devlog of how this game came to be~

Phew! As i am typing this, i finnaly submitted my game to the GoedWare Game Jam 5!! It was quite a journey, shorter than expected. But eh, I did my best. Let's talk about how I manage to make this game for about 5 Days only because of me being late to join the jam. Let's Go!

Day 1 (3rd Day of the jam-ish)

I just joined (I was actually on vacation and just randomly browsing the Jams Page on Itch ), and im pretty excited to start working on the game. I brainstormed a couple ideas, went with the simplest one i got. I went with the theme Robots Love Death like such :

There are 2 Robots being separated in many ways, you can control any of them and must bring them back together. But their freedom is limited by their tiny batteries, but they can kill themselves to replenish it.

The theme was generally basic, nothing special or anything but I feel like keeping things as simple as I can. I prepared the project and did some quick art along the way.

Day 2

I actually didnt manage to do anything today, I got soo busy with my vacation and only manage to code some basic platformer movement at night, but progress is progress, i guess.

Pretty much the overall style of the game

Day 3

I managed to create most of the main core of the game and started on making levels! I also came home from vacation, God, 9 hours of driving brah.

Day 4

Now we're getting serious, I managed to finish about 10 levels today. I also left the controls a bit clunky and slippery, because the battery drain is based on input, not player's movement.

Funny bug with the gravity pushing the Blue Bot thru the ground XD

Day 5 (Final Day)

It was quite a rush, I managed to get 20 levels finished PHEW and off course there had to be complications at the end. The game was published but moderators of the app didn't review it yet so it was completely unavailable to the public, I went back and forth at the discord server looking for help as it was getting late, Finally the game was reviewed right around midnight, I was so happy that I managed to submit this on time, not that the deadline matters, I'm really just wasn't supposed to be on a screen this late

Me trying to get the game past the moderation phase so it become playable to the public.

I was quite unlucky to had to go thru this after soo much hardwork..

But then it hapened around midnight, I was soooo Happy!! Props to people on that server who helped thru this problem.

Conclusion

But anyways its finally over. It was quite a journey. How did you guys did? It was quite fun to work even if I was actually om a vacation, having an app to make games like this on the go really help, speaking of that look at all this code lol its a mess.

What appears to be more than half of the game code lol

This jam was certainly very fun I really am looking foward to join this again. Thanks for reading and probaly playing the game!
